Into the Tomblands of Streamlandia
As the gentle breeze blows across the desert and the top layer of sand moves, a skeletal hand begins to slowly grasp the spear’s shaft as the other begins to claw at the ground around it, looking for something to grip onto as the undead warrior pulls itself to its feet. Fearless. Silent. The Warriors of Streamlandia draw their weapons and prepare to engage the warriors of the Tomblands.

What is Stream Raiders?
If you have not come across Stream Raiders before, you are in for a treat. If you have a few minutes, swing by and check out the full overview here.
What are the Tomblands?
Based on the Egyptian mythology of the gods, pyramids and scarabs - Tomblands is the latest Stream Raider special event, which is currently ongoing. The event sees our mighty warriors take to the field of battle across deserts, on the shores of a remote oasis and through dark and dusty hidden passageways beneath the temples of the Old Gods.
As with the other previous events, there are many new maps and enemies to discover, as well as limited edition unit skins to collect and special event chests to bolster your riches.
If you have not come across the special event chests before, there are four main types made up of...
Blue: These chests have a moderate chance of providing you with a unique event skin. However, if you don’t earn a skin, you are more than compensated with scrolls and gold.
Gold: The golden chests guarantee a high gold payout (the minimum I have received from a chest so far is 200 gold pieces).
Green: The green chests guarantee a payout of additional event tokens that go towards completing your battlepass and unlocking battlepass rewards (such as gold, scrolls, potions and meat).
Pink: The most highly sought after and lucrative of all of the chests. The pink chests (depending on the number of battles you completed with your captain) can pay out anything from thirty to ninety unit scrolls. Most often, paying out scrolls for rare units. Unfortunately, though, they do not pay out scrolls for the legendries. These can still only be upgraded via the battlepass.
Below is an example of what your rewards may look like if you receive a special chest:
When it comes to the special event chests, the more battles you fight and win with a captain, the more rewards you can unlock. There are three slots worth of additional rewards you can unlock, and these are bronze (for winning 1 - 14 battles with the same captain), silver (for winning 15 - 49 battles with the same captain) and gold (for winning 50+ battles with the same captain).
Okay, that sounds a bit different, what else is new?
In addition to the new maps and units, quests are also available.
Quests are a very recent addition to the Stream Raiders game and allow you to undertake quests of various sizes. For example, one quest may see you simply completing a one-off task of killing x number of x type of unit. Whereas others are longer quest lines that see you completing tasks from placing your first unit, all the way up to getting 15 units to their maximum level (level 30).
Below are a few examples of the quests you might come across:
Unfortunately, I have missed the last two events but have been catching up quickly and can confirm there is a lot more coming to Stream Raiders in February, such as a brand new unit and captain spells to help aid our forces in battle.
Did you say there are new enemy types?
There are indeed various new enemy types that have never been seen before, such as the Sand Sentinels (naga like warriors). Shadow Keepers (jackal like warriors themed around the Egyptian god Anubis). And Old Gods (mighty deities that can deal up to 350+ damage per hit). However, we also have a few random maps thrown into the event that are a throwback to previous events and contain a few familiar enemies.
No matter what you are looking for, there is something to pique all interests and to challenge all skill levels.
Below are a few examples of the new units you may encounter:
And here are a few examples of the existing units you may encounter on your adventures too:
What do the new maps look like?
Many new maps are all themed around, you guessed it, the desert and pyramids. Below are a few examples of some of the maps that you may be summoned to fight on.
Admittedly, as with the units, I have picked out a selection of images to show, meaning that there are still some parts of the event to discover yourself (something I personally find fun and engaging). As I mentioned before, some of the maps that have previously appeared in events have also made a return for some epic-scale battles.
When does the event end?
Tomblands will continue to run as Stream Raiders’ special event for another eleven days, bringing us up to the 26th February.
